This is a vintage smoking jacket or lounging jacket featuring a Chinese medallion pattern.  The jacket is made of a faille fabric (fine grosgrain) that is embroidered in satin with the medallion pattern.  The shawl lapels and cuffs are in satin that is quilted or stitched with a geometric pattern.  It has an applied pocket on the left chest and on either side, all trimmed in the same stitched satin.   The piece closes with a plain satin sash belt.  The interior is lined in maroon satin.

Fabric:  Faille, I believe a silk faille.

Color: An interesting color that I would call "claret" - more pinkish than maroon, quite unique and very striking.  Please note that the lighting caused the satin medallions to reflect to a greater degree than in real life.

Sizing:  Size 46 is indicated, but this is a vintage size - I would think that this should fit a medium or smaller large size, maybe a size 42, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 24 1/2” long

Sleeve Inseam: 18” long

Chest: 46”, taken under the arms and depending on overlap

Waist: 46” around, but meant to be cinched with the belt

Overall length: 32"

Condition:

It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors. This doesn’t look to have seen much use and was well stored over the years.  This is a great looking smoking jacket, very classy styling and in a striking color.....
